Built around the Shorts link
Shorts links look different from normal YouTube links: they contain "/shorts/" followed by the video ID. Saveclipbro reads that link directly. Copy it from the app, paste it here, and the tool finds the clip.
Saving a Short, start to finish
- Play the Short in the YouTube app or on youtube.com.
- Tap Share, then Copy link. On a computer, copy the address bar.
- Paste the link into the box at the top of this page.
- Choose a size. MP4 (720p) is set already; MP4 (1080p) is the sharper choice for upright clips.
- Tap Download and wait for the progress bar. The result card shows the clip's title and "Download ready".
- Tap Download on that card. The file is saved under the Short's title.
720p or 1080p for a Short?
Here is a detail many people miss. The menu names refer to the short side of a wide video. A Short stands upright, so the same label can give you a smaller picture than you expect. With our test clip, MP4 (720p) produced 360 × 640 pixels, and MP4 (1080p) produced 608 × 1080 pixels.
That makes 1080p the right pick when you want a crisp clip on a modern phone, or when you plan to edit or repost your own Short. Choose 720p when you only want a small file to watch once or to send in a chat.
Longer Shorts grow in step: a clip twice as long makes a file about twice as big, whichever size you choose.
Get the clip into your gallery
- iPhone: open the Files app, go to Downloads, tap the video, then tap Share and Save Video. It now appears in Photos.
- Android: open the Downloads app or your browser's downloads. Most gallery apps also show the Download folder.
- Computer: the MP4 is in your Downloads folder and plays in any video player.
Keep only the sound
Sometimes the audio is the point: a trending song, a quote or a sound effect. Switch the format menu to MP3, which you find in the Audio group. In our test, the sound of a Short came out as a 320 kbps MP3 in about 21 seconds. The clip to MP3 page tells you more about audio from short videos.
A backup of your own Shorts
If you post Shorts yourself, keep a local copy of each one. Your phone may still have the raw footage, but the posted version carries your cuts, captions and music. Paste the link of your published Short here, choose MP4 (1080p), and store the file next to your project files. Then you can upload it again or reuse it later without rebuilding the edit.

Shorts questions
Will the clip still be vertical?
Yes. Saveclipbro does not crop or rotate it; the file keeps the 9:16 shape of the Short.
Can I save a Short that has been deleted?
No. Once a Short is removed or set to private, it cannot be fetched any more. Save clips you care about while they are online.
Does the clip keep its music?
Yes. The MP4 carries the full sound of the Short, including any music the creator added.
Why is the 1080p file so much bigger?
It holds many more pixels and a higher bit rate. In our test it was about nine times the size of the 720p file.
Can I save several Shorts at once?
One link at a time. When a clip is saved, paste the next one.
Saveclipbro does not belong to YouTube or Google. Download only Shorts you created or have the creator's permission to keep.
